About this episode

Absolutely — here it is cleaned up for easy copy/paste with proper spacing and no weird source text stuck in the middle:Adulting is basically saying “yeah, totally” and then Googling it later. This week on A Little Throuple Tea, we’re admitting the stuff we pretend to understand even when we absolutely do not.Mortgage points? Wine legs? Confit? Amuse-bouche? Torque? Gen Z slang? Sports rules? Corporate buzzwords? We put ourselves on the spot and find out which things we actually know, which things we kind of know, and which things we have apparently been confidently faking for years. It starts with adulting and money, where “mortgage points” somehow becomes: point one, you have a mortgage. Point two, pay on time. Then we move into wine and food vocabulary and discover that none of us knows why wine has “legs,” chiffonade sounds like an insult, and amuse-bouche apparently sounds more like a booze cruise. We also test our knowledge of sports, cars, house repairs, Gen Z language and business jargon.Rizz? Delulu? Torque versus horsepower? Golf scoring?Somehow we know more about KPIs, deliverables, bandwidth and pivoting than we do about half the things adults are supposedly expected to know. And yes, Daniel handles a spam call in Spanish just well enough to make us wonder if he is secretly a spy.We also got invited to screen One Baby, Please on OUTtv, which somehow fits perfectly into an episode where we immediately admit we know absolutely nothing about babies.Including the time Daniel put a diaper on backwards. Then Bowl of Chaos turns into the Caleb Show as we find out who accepts dares they absolutely should not, who disappears from the group for 20 minutes with no explanation, who tells strangers way too much personal information, and who would impulsively book a trip for tomorrow. Also in this episode:• Daniel once put a baby’s diaper on backwards • The financial advice we absolutely should have listened to in our 20s • Why we thought credit scores might eventually disappear • Wine legs, confit, gastrique and other words we fake understanding • The chiffonade argument • Daniel versus a spam caller • Gen Z vocabulary makes us feel ancient • Horsepower, torque and somehow twerking • Sports rules we barely understand • Why Will is apparently the household expert in everything • Corporate buzzword speed round • Bowl of Chaos gets personal • Sassy Astrology tells us to stop fighting battles that don’t matter • Daniel slips another finance tip • The Dad Joke lands exactly as well as expected This week’s Sassy Astrology also gives us a reminder we probably all need:Being right is nice, but knowing when to shut the f*** up is a life skill. And:You don’t have to win an argument with someone whose opinion you don’t even respect.Tell us in the comments:What is something you’ve pretended to understand for WAY too long?Download the FREE Throuple Tea app on Apple and Android to chat with us when we record, send in a Throuple Hotline message and hang out with the community.Check out Tres Amigos, Una Vida Books One and Two, and read our weekly companion article with the Los Angeles Blade.Follow, subscribe, rate, review and send this episode to the friend who always says “yeah, I know” and absolutely does not know.Throuple life.
